How long is it acceptable to wait for the release of a movie?

In case you have forgotten, which at this point would be expected, the first movie of the new Batman trilogy came out in 2022. That's right, four years ago, and we still don't have a part 2. By the time the actual movie comes out, Robert Pattinson will be old enough to play Alfred instead, and we will have forgotten about the fact that Ben Affleck wasn't the last actor to play Batman.

It's both ridiculous and hilarious. I mean, we know that filming a movie takes time, and it's not just the filming time; it's the post-production, the screening tests, the P.R., and blah blah blah. We get it. Still, this is starting to feel like a bad joke. The last high-grossing film we saw coming out, The Odyssey, only took 91 days to be filmed. And the whole thing lasts three hours. And it has a ton of post-production work. Yet, it didn't take four years to make.

The release date for Batman Part II has been delayed like four times now, and it's natural for us to think that it may never come out. Or it will build tremendous expectations that will be shattered once the movie finally premieres. And now that Matt Reeves is stepping down and Steven Soderbergh is stepping in, we have even more questions.

History keeps repeating itself. Remember the last time something like this happened? Yeah, it was with Zack Snyder and the Justice League movie. He had to step down for personal reasons, and director Joss Whedon took over. He rewrote and reshot more than half of the film, and I'm telling you, the 2017 version and the Snyder Cut are two completely different movies. After that, Snyder could never come back, and the whole trilogy he had planned fell into oblivion.

We're desperately hoping that doesn't happen with this one, especially because the first one was so good! So in the meantime, we're making memes about the whole situation to laugh it off and avoid crying. Let's just hope 2028 is the year for the definitive premiere.

I feel for Robert Pattinson at this point. The poor guy has been doing everything in his power to make us forget all about Edward Cullen. He's been in The Odyssey, Dune, The Lighthouse, and now Batman. He has definitely proven something: the man can act! And I'm sure that all the delays and reshoots are as annoying for him as they are for us.
He has worked so hard to become a well-established actor in the industry, and to this day, I keep coming across interviews where he's asked about Twilight. I swear to you, when those questions come up, it suddenly looks like all life is being drained from his eyes. No one is ever going to forget it. But at least it goes to prove that he has that sad, lone-wolf, brooding type of look and personality, which are perfect for playing Batman! I console myself thinking that, if the plot of the movie ends up being terrible, at least they made the right choice for the leading man, and his acting might be the only thing salvaging it. I'm hoping it's a good movie, though; they will have had 6 years; they'd better deliver something decent.
